Freedom of Gosport Commemorative Certificate |

All South Atlantic Medal Holders taking part on the day were presented with a commemorative Certificate, which was personalised. We aim to make these available to all Veterans who
were not able to take part on the day, for a small donation of £7 to cover costs and P&P.

A decision was made by the National Lottery to not award any money to the project to build a house in the Falklands to allow Veterans and their families the chance to visit the Islands.
The work continues, and the task of raising the money needed, goes on.

This was a great day
with what can only be described as appropriate weather, that
tried to dampen spirits, but in many ways helped to draw
everyone even closer. More details to follow. |

A full colour book has been published containing 130 pages in full colour dedicated to the Men and Women of the Armed Forces who have lost their lives in Northern Ireland, The Falkland Islands, Flying Accident Hastings Aircraft Call Sign TG 577 and the Mull of Kintyre.
This is a limited edition and will be raising money for a number of good causes. It has been published by Palace Barracks Memorial Garden.

Welcome announcement by Councillor GRAHAM BURGESS, Mayor of Gosport, Hampshire.
A submariner and nicknamed ‘Budgie’ during his 24 years of service in the Royal Navy, the 55 year old entered the hall to the Gosport Silver Band’s version of The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine. After much ceremony and recognition of thanks to family, friends and colleagues, it was rather appropriate and gratifying to hear the announcement of support by The Mayor of Gosport of the FVF and here is an extract of his speech...
